π₯ How-To Video Scripts (User-Facing)
Pre-production scripts for the AceSense customer journey. Acquisition β activation β retention, plus a blocked referral concept.
:::warning Source audit Videos 1β3 are drafts and must be rehearsed against a release build. Video 4 must not be recorded: the app deliberately hides session sharing because no public session link exists. PDF export is shown only when a completed job has a real PDF URL. Store listing, publication, and performance claims are also unverified outside the repository. :::
Companion to: Video Walkthrough Scripts (Dev-facing) β those are for the team; these are for players and coaches.

π¬ Video 1 β How to Record Your First Tennis Videoβ
Goal: Remove every friction point between "user downloaded the app" and "user sees their first analysis." This video is the single biggest lever on activation rate.
Audience: Brand-new users (trial player, rec-league amateur, first-time coach). Assume no prior experience with motion-analysis apps.
Duration: 2 min 30 sec
Tools: Phone held at fence height, tripod, second phone for screen recording.
Thumbnail concept: Split-frame β left side is a phone clipped to a court fence filming a player; right side is the AceSense app showing the Upload screen. Overlay: "Your first video. 2 minutes."
Scriptβ
[0:00] Hook β 5 sec
(Face-cam, court in background)
"The difference between a video AceSense can analyse and one it can't comes down to three things. I'll show you all three in the next two minutes."
[0:05] The setup β 30 sec
(Cut to: phone clipped to a fence, wide angle, court visible)
"One β film from behind the baseline, as high as you can get. A fence clamp works, a tripod works, even a friend standing still works. You want the full court in frame, including where the ball lands."
(On-screen text: "β Full court visible β Camera steady β Height > 6 ft if possible")
[0:35] Lighting and framing β 20 sec
(Cut to: two sample clips side-by-side β one dim, one well-lit)
"Two β record in daylight if you can. Indoor courts work too, just make sure the camera isn't fighting the overhead lights. If you can see the ball clearly on your phone screen, the AI can track it."
[0:55] Length β 15 sec
"Three β check the recording limit shown for your plan before you film. The current app uploads one video file, so choose a recording that fits that limit."
[1:10] In the app β 45 sec
(Screen recording starts. App open on Home tab.)
"Open AceSense. Tap the big green Start New Session button. You get two options β Upload an existing video from your phone, or Record one right now. We'll upload."
(Pick video from gallery β Upload screen appears)
"The app shows you the file size, estimated upload time, and a tips card β the same three things we just covered. Tap Upload."
(Progress bar fills)
"Upload takes anywhere from 30 seconds on wifi to a few minutes on cellular. You can close the app β we'll push a notification when analysis is done."
[1:55] What happens next β 20 sec
(Cut to: JobStatusScreen showing "Analyzing")
"While you're waiting, the app shows the job's current processing state. Processing time varies with the recording and service load. You can leave this screen and return from Sessions; AceSense will notify you when the report is ready when notifications are enabled."
[2:15] Close + CTA β 15 sec
(Back to face-cam)
"That's it. Camera steady, good light, and a recording within the limit shown for your plan. Upload it, and the next video will show you how to read the completed analysis. πΎ"
(End card: App Store + Play Store badges + "acesense.io")
Recording notesβ
- Shoot the court footage first β a real rally, real player. Don't fake it. Pick a sunny weekday morning so lighting looks aspirational.
- Use two phones for the in-app section β one running the app, one recording the screen. Screen recording through iOS's built-in tool works; just flip to airplane mode so notifications don't ruin the take.
- Don't over-edit β jump cuts between sections are fine. Users care about pace, not polish.
- Captions are mandatory β 85 % of social watches are muted. Burn in captions for the whole script.
π¬ Video 2 β How to Read Your AceSense Analysisβ
Goal: Turn "I uploaded a video and got stats back" into "I understand what I'm looking at and I know what to do next." This is the Aha-moment video.
Audience: First-time analysis viewers. Intermediate players who want to improve; coaches reviewing a player's session.
Duration: 3 min
Tools: Real analysis result with good variety β mix of forehands, backhands, and at least one serve. Pre-recorded so the numbers look meaningful.
Thumbnail concept: The Heatmap tab with clear red-hot zones on one side of the court. Overlay: "What every AceSense number actually means."
Scriptβ
[0:00] Hook β 10 sec
(Face-cam, phone in hand showing Analysis screen)
"You just got your first AceSense analysis and there's a lot on this screen. I'll walk you through every tab in three minutes β and more importantly, tell you what actually matters."
[0:10] Overview tab β 50 sec
(Screen recording, starts on the Overview tab)
"Default view is Overview. Four numbers at the top β total shots, accuracy, max speed, session count. The one most people obsess over is max speed, but for improvement, look at accuracy. That's the percentage of your shots that landed in-court."
(Point at the shot-distribution donut chart)
"Under that, the donut chart shows what shots you hit. Forehands, backhands, serves, volleys. This is where most players get surprised β you probably hit way more backhands than you thought."
(Scroll to AI Coach Insights)
"At the bottom β AI Coach Insights. This is personalised to the session. Read it. It's the single most actionable thing on the screen."
[1:00] Shots tab β 45 sec
(Swipe to Shots tab)
"Second tab β Shots. Every shot you hit, one by one. Tap any shot to see biomechanics β elbow angle at contact, wrist velocity, ball speed, shot type with a confidence score."
(Open one shot)
"The pose animation shows you what your body actually did. The tip card under it is the one you care about β it'll say something like 'Extend your arm 15 degrees more at contact for +12 % power.' Apply those to the next session."
[1:45] Heatmap tab β 45 sec
(Swipe to Heatmap tab)
"Third tab β Heatmap. The court is divided into eight zones. Colour shows where your shots landed. Bright green equals a lot of shots; dark equals few. Use the filter at the top to see just forehands, just serves, whatever."
(Apply a filter)
"Why this matters: if your forehand heatmap only lights up one zone, you're predictable. Coaches love this tab because it makes weaknesses visible instantly."
[2:30] Stats tab β 20 sec
(Swipe to Stats tab)
"Fourth tab β Stats. Averages, rally length, training recommendations based on your weak zones. On Pro, this compares you to your past sessions so you can see actual improvement week over week."
[2:50] Close + CTA β 10 sec
(Face-cam)
"That's the whole screen. Next video β I'll show you how to take the AI's recommendations and turn them into a practice drill that actually fixes your weak spots. See you there."
(End card: "Next up: Video 3 β Drills that fix your heatmap")
Recording notesβ
- Use a demo account with a well-populated session β a thin session with 4 forehands doesn't sell the feature.
- Pre-scroll to each tab so transitions look intentional. iOS screen recording picks up the swipe gesture fine; don't fake it with cuts.
- Zoom into numbers β use Loom's zoom tool or Keynote's magic move if recording on a laptop. On mobile, rely on the physical close-up shot.
- Don't read every number on screen β the video should be an interpretive guide, not narration of the UI.
π¬ Video 3 β How to Use Drills to Actually Improveβ
Goal: Show the current analysis-to-practice path without implying that practice completion is persisted.
Audience: Users with a completed analysis containing classified shots.
Duration: 1 min 45 sec
Tools: A release build and a completed analysis that produces a specific recommended drill.
Thumbnail concept: The real Recommended Drill card beside its drill-detail timer. Overlay: βYOUR NEXT DRILLβ.
Scriptβ
[0:00] Hook β 10 sec
(Face-cam, phone showing a completed analysis)
"Your analysis includes a practical next step. Here's how to open the recommended drill and run its timer."
[0:10] Open the recommendation β 25 sec
(Screen recording, scroll to the Recommended Drill card)
"AceSense chooses from the strokes classified in this session. If the report has enough evidence, the card names a drill; otherwise it sends you to the full practice list. Tap Open Drill."
[0:35] Read the drill β 40 sec
(Drill detail opens; show focus, difficulty, description, and duration)
"Start with the focus, difficulty, description, and duration. Then scan the step-by-step instructions and pro tips before you begin."
(Scroll through What you'll feel, Equipment, and Common mistakes)
"The bottom of the page calls out the expected feel, equipment, and common mistakes. Keep the screen nearby so you can reset between repetitions."
[1:15] Use the timer β 20 sec
(Start, pause, then reset the drill timer)
"Use Start and Pause while you work. Reset returns the timer to the drill's configured duration. This timer is a session aid; it does not save a practice history yet."
[1:35] Close β 10 sec
(Face-cam, then the Practice list)
"That's the current loop: open the evidence-based recommendation, read the drill, and use the timer. Browse Practice when you want a different focus."
Recording notesβ
- Use a real completed analysis; when no strokes are classified, the UI correctly falls back to Browse Practice.
- Record the actual timer controls and drill sections from the release build.
- Do not show or mention tagged uploads, saved practice history, or before/after comparison until those features exist.
π¬ Video 4 β How to Share a Session with Your Coachβ
:::danger Blocked script Public session links are not implemented in the current app. The share control is intentionally hidden, and the remaining share sheet explains that sharing is unavailable. Keep the section below only as a future concept; do not film, caption, localize, or distribute it as current behavior. :::
Goal: Activate the viral / referral loop. Every shared session is a free exposure to one more prospect. Also: coaches recommending the app to other students is the single highest-converting growth channel.
Audience: Players who train with a coach (most serious intermediates do); coaches who want to give feedback between lessons.
Duration: 2 min
Tools: Two phones β one playing "the player," one "the coach" receiving the link.
Thumbnail concept: Phone A showing "Link copied to clipboard" toast; Phone B showing the shared session in browser. Speech bubble between them: "Look at my backhand from Tuesday."
Scriptβ
[0:00] Hook β 10 sec
(Face-cam, court in background)
"You just played. You've got 20 minutes until your lesson. Here's how you get your coach up to speed before you even walk into the club."
[0:10] Share from the analysis β 40 sec
(Screen recording, analysis screen)
"Open the session. Top right β Share button. Tap it."
(Share menu appears)
"Two options. Copy Link β the fastest. Paste it into iMessage, WhatsApp, email, Slack, wherever your coach lives. Or Download Report β generates a PDF with the whole analysis baked in. Use the PDF if your coach is old-school or if you want a record."
[0:50] What the coach sees β 40 sec
(Cut to phone B β coach opens link in browser)
"Your coach taps the link. They don't need the app. They see your full analysis in the browser β same heatmap, same stats, same coach-insights card. They can read it on the way to the court."
(Scroll through the shared view)
"One thing to know β if you're on the free tier, anyone with the link can view. If you're on Pro, sharing is private-by-default and you can revoke."
[1:30] The conversation β 20 sec
(Back to face-cam, half-talking to camera, half holding up phone)
"This changes lesson prep. Instead of 'how did it feel' β which no one can answer β your coach walks in already knowing you hit 60 percent of backhands into net on the ad side. They coach the actual problem."
[1:50] Close + CTA β 10 sec
"Upload, analyse, share. Three taps. That's the full loop. If your coach isn't already on AceSense, send them this video β it works just as well from their side. πΎ"
(End card: "Tell your coach β acesense.io")
Recording notesβ
- Set up two phones before you hit record. The player phone and the coach phone should both be signed-in, with the demo session pre-loaded and ready.
- Film the handoff in one take if possible. The share-link-received moment is the emotional beat β split-screen or picture-in-picture keeps it tight.
- End card matters more than in the other three β this is the video most likely to be shared with coaches. Make the URL readable for 5 seconds minimum.
π― Production planβ
One shoot day covers all four:
| Block | Duration | What you're capturing |
|---|---|---|
| Morning β court session | 2 hr | B-roll for Videos 1, 3 (real player, real shots). Two phones: one as the camera, one as the performer. Film a full practice and a drill attempt. |
| Midday β screen recordings | 1 hr | All in-app sequences for Videos 1-4. Use a demo account with the populated session. iOS Screen Recording + airplane mode. |
| Afternoon β face-cam pickups | 1 hr | Intro/outro shots for all 4 videos. Same backdrop, same lighting, same outfit β continuity sells the series. |
Post-production: expect 3 hr in CapCut or Descript for cuts, captions, end cards. Export at 1080p 30 fps for App Store; vertical 9:16 crops for Reels/TikTok (Videos 1 and 4 work best vertical).
Distribution:
| Channel | Video | Length-fit |
|---|---|---|
| App Store preview (max 30 sec) | Video 1, cut to 30 sec | The "first impression" slot β users see it before download |
| Landing page modal | Video 2 full | Anchors the Features section |
| In-app empty state | Video 1 full | Shown on Home when user has 0 sessions |
| Email lifecycle day 3 | Video 3 | Triggered after first analysis completes |
| Coach-influencer outreach | Video 4 | Include in every coach partnership email |
| YouTube Shorts / Reels / TikTok | All four, vertical re-cut | Hooks and CTAs in the scripts already work for short-form |
